The Stella Quilt in Winterglow
How gorgeous is this collaborative winter collection from Ruby Star Society? I love the collections by the RSS individual designers, but the collaborative collections are my favorite. Winterglow has so many great prints and colors (yes, I even like the green in this collection) and it was perfect for the Stella Quilt pattern.
One thing that can be challenging about a collection like Winterglow is that it has several really light fabrics and several really dark fabrics and not a ton of mid-valued fabrics in between. I have a few patterns that work well with these types of collections (look at Virginia or Abigail in particular) and Stella is a rockstar for this type of collection.
I knew I was going to love working with Winterglow when I realized that there are snowflakes in the collection. I love them! Since I knew I was going to have this project long arm quilted, my plan was originally to use a snowflake panto.
After looking around, it turns out I am really particularly about which snowflakes I like and didn't find one that I loved for this project. Heidi (my favorite long arm quilter) helped me pick out the perfect design and did such beautiful work. I love how it turned out!
Winterglow should be available this month and the Stella Quilt is available right now. Pick up your copy in my shop!
