The Ruby Quilt Pattern in Spellbound

The Ruby Quilt Pattern in Spellbound

Lately I have been drawn toward Halloween collections and one of the two Halloween quilts that I made this month was the Ruby Quilt in Spellbound by Sweetfire Road.

I think part of the reason why I loved this collection so much is that I just really like orange, but I also like the combination of prints in this collection. It was so much fun to make a Halloween quilt in April — there was no pressure to finish up like there is when I make Halloween Quilts in October.

For this quilt, I knew that I wanted to use a lighter color for my smaller squares (Ghost Magic Sparkle) and orange for my background fabric (Pumpkin Magic Sparkle) and I love how it changes up the pattern.

Just like the Lil quilt, I used a jelly roll for this quilt. I wanted to make sure to get all of the prints from the collection involved because Spellbound has such a good mix of value and print.

You know I had to use some of those stripes for the binding (Cauldron Witch Stockings) and I ended up using a white print for the backing (Ghost Moonflower) since there was just a tiny bit of orange on the quilt top and I didn't want things to get too out of control.

If you would like to make a quilt like this one, Spellbound is already available in shops and you can pick up the Ruby Quilt pattern in my shop.
