The Katie Quilt Rainbow Quilt Pattern

Pattern of the Week: The Katie Quilt

After making a baby-size version of the Katie Quilt for my Quilt Roulette series, I knew I had to make it the Pattern of the Week!

The Katie Quilt Pattern - Kitchen Table Quilting

What makes the Katie Quilt Pattern stand out in my shop is its versatility. More than any other pattern, this one is meant to be a starting point for your creativity. Whether you stick to the original design on the cover (which is perfect for a patriotic red, white, and blue quilt, seasonal themes, or something more masculine) or let your creativity run wild, the possibilities are endless! While one of the mockups shows the pattern as written, the others explore a variety of creative takes.

A few years ago, I made a different variation on this pattern and got some negative comments from quilters who wished that specific instructions for that variation were included. While I can’t account for every possible variation, this pattern is easy to customize if you’ve made a few quilts before. However, to help you get started, I’ve included some rough fabric requirements at the bottom of this post—so no hate mail, please! 😉
