The Bonnie Quilt in Pure Solids
When I was deciding on fabrics for the cover for the Bonnie Quilt Pattern, I knew I wanted to go colorful and I had so much fun doing it! I may have accidentally purchased quite a few colors of Art Gallery Pure Solids recently 🫣 and I now have a rather extensive collection so I decided to dig around in my stash for my colors.
One of my favorite things about this pattern is that it works so well with colorful background fabrics so I knew I didn't want to use white, but I also didn't want to go too bright since I was using so much color in the rest of the quilt. I am loving light pink as a neutral lately.
Here are the colors I used in my quilt:
Background: Ethereal Pink PTM FQS
Turmeric PTM FQS
Coral Reef PTM FQS
Summer Sun (I used 2 strips of this) PTM FQS
Swimming Pool PTM FQS
Atmospheric PTM FQS
Aero Blue PTM FQS
Aurus PTM FQS
Parisian Blue PTM FQS
Marmalade PTM FQS
Jade Cream PTM FQS
Apricot Crepe PTM FQS
Warm Wave PTM FQS
Crystal Pink PTM FQS
Cactus Flower PTM FQS
Ocean Waves PTM FQS
Hydrangea PTM FQS
Morning Frost PTM FQS
Cerulean PTM FQS
Pineapple PTM FQS
Quartz Pink PTM FQS
Shrimpy PTM FQS
Grapefruit PTM FQS
Lemon Tart PTM FQS
I cut my own jelly roll from my fabrics in my stash — you could also use fewer colors and make the fat quarter or fat eighth version.
The quilting was done by Heidi of Piece and Joy Quilting and she used one of the pantographs that she designed and it was perfect for this project.
Are you ready to see how cute the backing fabric is?
It's so adorable! I have had this print in my stash for a while and was so happy with how well it worked with the solids since I didn't have my backing picked before I made the quilt top.
If you would like to make a quilt just like this one, I have linked to all of the Pure Solids up above from two different shops (Pear Tree Market (PTM) and Fat Quarter Shop (FQS) which are the 2 shops where I usually buy Pure Solids). You can find the Bonnie Quilt Pattern available in my shop!
