The Annie Quilt in Sugar Cone
I know a lot of you guys are excited about Kimberly Kight's new Sugar Cone collection and let me tell you: be excited! It's even better in person and it was perfect for the cover of the Annie Quilt Pattern.
For the past year or so I have been playing around with the idea of diagonal stripes behind blocks and this collection was just what I needed to make the pattern happen. I was inspired by the idea of a striped awning at an ice cream and I love that the stripes can be more subtle (like in this quilt) or more bold like in the quilt I will be sharing tomorrow.
My favorite print in the collection is the blue push pop print. I have a hard time finding blue prints that are not green and not navy and the blues in this collection are 👍🏻👍🏻
The quilting was done by my favorite long arm quilter Heidi of Piece and Joy Quilting. I love the panto that she used — it is kind of a cross between a baptist fan and a cloud but also a little like an ice cream scoop 😂
The background fabric is two different shades of Speckled: Pale Pink and Peony. For the backing, I used the super cute Sugar Cone print in Cotton Candy. The binding is Spark in Lipstick.
If you would like to make an Annie Quilt just like this one, Sugar Cone should be in shops in the next few weeks and you can find the Annie Quilt Pattern in my shop now.
