Watercolor Echelon Quilt
But I have been wanting to expand my horizons a little bit and decided to make up my Echelon pattern in some softer tones. If you click over to the blog post for the OG Echelon post you can see the difference a little color makes!
This quilt used Michael Miller Cotton Couture. My favorite thing about the Cotton Couture solids is that they have a really beautiful muted quality and I wanted to create kind for a rainbow-y watercolor-y combination.
Since purple is my favorite color I knew that I wanted to make it the main focus in the quilt and I love how the other colors flow outward from it.
This is one of my super simple, beginner friendly patterns and it is so quick to put together. This is the type of pattern that I wish I'd had around when I made my first quilt about a decade ago.
The backing is a super cute Sarah Jane print called Learn About Everything.
In case you would like to make your own version, the list below is all of the Cotton Couture colors that I used in my quilts and the corresponding fabric name from the pattern. You can pick up a copy of the pattern in my shop.
I really enjoyed making this quilt but do you want to know who loved it even more? Bees! They must have been attracted to the colors because the quilt was covered in them at one point. I'm glad they decided to leave us alone so we could get a photo!
