The Phoebe Quilt in Strawberry & Friends

The Phoebe Quilt in Strawberry & Friends

Way back in April (wow!) we started a quiltalong using the Phoebe Quilt Pattern. Even though I finished the quilt top during the QAL, it took me a few months to baste, then a few more to quilt and bind the project, and finally a couple more months to get photos taken. But now it is done.

This quilt used a F8th bundle of Strawberry & Friends by Kim Kight. I love this collection so, so much and so did many of you since it disappeared from shelves very quickly (although I found one FQ bundle available here and a layer cake here!). It is the perfect combination of pretty birght colors, fun novelty prints, and gorgeous florals. Just perfect.

For the background fabric I debated playing it safe with a white background fabric or walking on the wild side with the pink — I took a chance on this pink Hole Punch Dot print. I actually think the white would have been just as fun, but you are always trying to get me to be a little more daring and I am glad that I gave in. The pink packs a punch.

The backing fabric is a blue plaid from the collection and the binding fabric is the green seeds print.

For the quilting, I did more normal organic grid, this time on the diagonal. It gives the quilt such a great texture.

It’s very pink, and therefore very good! I love that background!

I just rewatched those videos last night! I have a holiday jelly roll & am thinking about using it in this pattern. I also have a white jelly roll & don’t love cutting yardage into strips. :)
