The Irene Quilt in Warp and Weft Hue
I have loved the various Warp and Weft collections that Alexia Abegg has created, especially the solids. In fact, I have been collecting the solids from the collections since the beginning so I was thrilled to see a Warp and Weft that is just solids and I knew that these fabrics were perfect for the cover quilt of the Irene Quilt Pattern.
These fabrics all have a beautiful, crosswoven depth that makes them a little something extra over traditional solids. The Warp and Weft Hue collection has a good range of shades, but for this quilt I stuck to the warmer colors with just a couple of the blues and greens mixed in since I was making the pattern using the fat quarter instructions and the lap size just needs 12 FQers.
For the sashing I used Natural and for the background squares I used Chambray.
The quilting was done by Heidi from Piece and Joy Quilting Co and she always does such a fantastic job. While I love quilting my own projects, I love having Heidi quilt the projects that will be on the pattern cover because they always photograph so beautifully.
Head over to the shop to pick up your copy of the Irene Quilt Pattern — Warp and Weft Hue will be available later this year!

Will there be a paper pattern eventually?
