The Glenda Quilt Pattern

The Glenda Quilt Pattern

A while back when I made this pillow for a swap, I had the idea to make a Tennessee Waltz inspired quilt where there were overlapping chains of stars.  I get ideas like this sometimes and they pretty much never work out, but I drafted the pattern in EQ7 and it actually worked.
The Glenda Quilt

Meet The Glenda Quilt, now available on Craftsy and Etsy. She is named after a teacher that I had from 6-8th grade.  Glenda Maxwell is one of the most compassionate, patient, and kookiest people I have ever met.  She took individual interest in all of her students and she had a profound impact on my life.

For this quilt I used Michael Miller Cotton Couture solids.  When I was planning the colors for this quilt, I kept coming back to Cotton Couture because they have the best shades of blue/greens.  The colors that I ended up using were Bottle, Teal, Celestial, Peacock, Spearmint, Kiwi, Nickel, Lillypad, Fog, and Bright White.

I had three wonderful testers test out this pattern for me.
Miranda's Glenda Quilt
Miranda used Bonnie and Camille fabrics on her beautiful quilt.  I love how she used a combination of prints and solids, and how the dark gray stars really pop.
Sally's Glenda Quilt
Sally used one of my favorite color combos for her gorgeous quilt - I love those minty greens and peaches together.

The third pattern tester is having a whopper of a month.  Pat was displaced by the hurricane and then had a death in the family.  I will be showing you her quilt soon.

I hope you enjoy the pattern.  If you make a version, I would love to see it!  Tag it with the hashtag #theglendaquilt on Instagram or email me a photo.

I have a nice sized pile of scraps leftover from making this quilt and I would love to give them away.  If you are interested, just leave a comment on this post and I will pick a winner in the next few days! The winner has been notified, thanks for entering!
