The Fiona Quilt in Fresh Linen
You know I love purple, so when I saw the Fresh Linen collection by Katie O'Shea, I knew I wanted to make a sample of the Fiona Quilt.
Since I am frequently lamenting the lack of purple fabrics out there, I try to make an effort to sew with collections that have a lot of purple prints (especially my favorite shades) to try to show my support for my favorite color! I adore the sweet purple and bluish purple prints in this collection.
The sashing fabric is my current favorite solid that I have been using a lot lately — it's Pure Solids in Linen White.
The backing and binding fabrics are (of course) purple prints from the collection: the binding is Dancing Dandelions in Fresh and the backing is Dogwood in Moonlight.
For the quilting, I used the scallop stitch on my machine again (the first time was for this quilt). It gives such a great texture and is so much more forgiving than a straight stitch.
If you would like to make a quilt just like this one, Fresh Linen is available now and you can pick up a copy of the Fiona Quilt in my shop!
