The Erica Quilt Pattern in Evolve
This fabric collection (Evolve by Suzy Quilts) is just really, really, really pretty. If a collection can make me like green (which is my least favorite color) it is doing something right and I just adore the greens in the collection. I knew it would be perfect for making the Erica Quilt Pattern.
Plus, I knew this would be a great collection to pair with a colorful background fabric and the combination of the background plus the Evolve prints is just wonderful. Am I gushing too much? Can you tell I really loved making this quilt?
The background fabric color is called Honeymoon and it's one of the Pure Solids from the Suzy Quilts color range. I think this might be my favorite shade of blue.
Since the blocks in the quilt are strip pieced, this came together super quickly and I decided to try something new for the quilting. I used the scallop stitch on my machine to quilt diagonal lines of scallops. I love how it turned out!
The scallops are more forgiving than normal straight lines and they added a fun detail and texture to the quilt. I used the walking foot guide on my machine to make them roughly evenly spaced.
The binding fabric is Tiny Moon in Nova (so pretty!) and the backing is a wideback print from the collection called Full Moon in Matcha.
If you would like to make a quilt just like this one, you can find Evolve in shops now and you can pick up a copy of the Erica Quilt Pattern in my shop!
