The Elena Quilt in Five + Ten
I finally got some photos of this quilt to share with you - this is the last sample I made using the Elena Quilt Pattern.
You guys know I love Denyse Schmidt (see here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here). Big fan! This is actually the second quilt I have made with her most recent collection, Five + Ten. After I made the Penny Quilt, I picked up a second fat quarter bundle because I knew I was going to want to use the collection again.
My only regret about this quilt is that I wish I had either used a navy solid or a darker print for the cornerstones. I thought the neon-ness of the greenish/yellow would pop more against the background fabric.
One of my favorite things about Denyse's collection is how well the colors work together. This collection uses a bunch of colors that aren't my favorite (red, green, yellow) but I love it anyway. I still wish she would reprint Hope Valley (purple!) but I will buy pretty much anything she designs.
For the backing fabric I used an older print from one of Denyse's previous collection. I think it is from Winter Walk. The binding is a navy solid.
I just love seeing all three of these quilts lined up together! This is definitely a pattern I will be revisiting for favorite fat quarter bundles in the future. If you would like to make your own version of the Elena Quilt, you can pick up a copy in my shop. Five + Ten is still available if you look for it!
