The Diana Quilt - A Rainbow Speckled Version
Technically this is my last quilt finish of 2021, but I don't consider it finished until it is photographed so we are going to log it with the 2022 finishes. This is a rainbow-y version of the Diana Quilt made using Speckled from Ruby Star Society.
This version uses fewer fabrics than the pattern calls for - it just combine Fabrics A & C, D & F, etc. It's an easy adjustment to make in the pattern. Another difference between this version and the previous versions (see those here and here) that I have made is that I swapped where I used the darker value and lighter value fabrics - I love the result!
You might notice that I did not take photos of this quilt in a field like I normally do. The field where I take photos is getting developed into a neighborhood and even though they haven't started yet, I am going to try branching out and trying some new photo locations when the weather and my schedule cooperate. I live in a small-ish city/big-ish town and there aren't a ton of murals or cool places for photos but I am going to give it a shot.
The Speckled colors that I used in my quilt are:
The backing fabric is one of my favorites - 108" wide Speckled in Berry. I love, love, love using 108" wide fabrics as backing - it eliminates one of my least favorite steps in the quilting process (piecing the backing).
I will have a couple more versions of this pattern to share soon - I'm making a couple of baby quilts for some twins!
