September Giant Block Tutorial
Welcome to the September Giant Block Tutorial. This is a traditional block called Raspberry Cheesecake that I have giant-ized.
I have recently been really drawn toward star blocks (thus my most recent pattern) and I liked the effect that this one has once it is made nice and big. It is a little more complicated than some of the other blocks in the series (it involves flying geese and half square triangles) but it isn't anything too crazy.
You can download the tutorial for this block (with instructions for both 24" and 36" versions) here. There is also a suggestion for using each size block in the quilt. To see past tutorials, check out these past posts.
The 24" suggestion this month is a simple 48" x 48" quilt made by using 4 of the blocks.
And the 36" block is a single block combined with a pieced border to create a fun, quick quilt.
Remember that you can also look back at past tutorials and use any of the 24" or 36" suggestions for this block. For example, I think this would look great as an on point quilt like the suggestion in the January tutorial.
