New Pattern - The Zelda Quilt

New Pattern - The Zelda Quilt

Do you have a favorite quilt block? Mine is the Ohio Star block. For the past few months I have been working on some ideas using the block. I knew I wanted to keep things simple, but I didn't want to go TOO simple. The Zelda Quilt felt like just the right balance.

The Zelda Quilt Pattern - Kitchen Table Quilting

The quilt pattern is so versatile! It can easily go from modern to traditional based on fabric selection. This is also a great opportunity to try out bold background fabric choices — if you remember a couple of weeks ago, I posted some mockups using Pure Solids with different fabric choices. So many different options worked well and gave the pattern some very different looks.

This pattern is fat eighth or fat quarter friendly (yay!) and is a great way to use all kinds of fabric collections. I wanted to show you a range so I have this Backyard quilt which is pretty modern, a solids version which is a little more streamlined modern, and a quilt using Sunnyside from Camille Roskelley which is a little more traditional. I will share those later this week.

Plus I will also be sharing some mockups to give you even more ideas!

The Zelda Quilt pattern has instructions for baby, lap, twin, queen, AND king size quilts. My goal with new patterns going forward is to always include all of these sizes where possible.

You can find the Zelda Quilt Pattern in my shop as both a paper and PDF pattern starting today!

I love all of your quilt patterns. Do you have them published in a bound book for purchase?

Great name! I know you generally do family names. Would love to hear the story of this one. My Great Grandmother was Zelda. Not a super common name.
