Cotton + Steel Modern Postage Stamp Quilt
Aren't scrap quilts the best? For this one I used my Modern Postage Stamp quilt pattern and it was so quick and perfect for the little scraps of fabric I had sitting around.
I have been slowly, a little bit at a time, working on this quilt for the past few weeks and while I was working on it I was relishing how wonderful these prints are and how grateful I am that Cotton + Steel has contributed so much to the fabric industry. And then news came that the original Cotton + Steel designers will be leaving the brand. I don't know the circumstances behind their decision, but I hope they keep designing fabric.
I didn't quite have enough C+S scraps so I threw in a few solids.
And I cheated just a little bit and cut some of those little bears from yardage because they are just too perfect.
I knew that I wanted to use a sashing fabric that had some personality but that wouldn't distract from the rest of the quilt and this Cotton + Steel Add it Up print fit the bill. It is a nice neutral color with tiny little bright orange plusses on it.The quilting is an organic crosshatch - my favorite. The lines are pretty dense which gives the quilt a nice feel and texture.
The backing and binding fabrics are also Cotton + Steel - both are from the Printshop collection.
