Addition Quilt in Rainbow Gingham
You know I love a rainbow quilt and have a bit of an unofficial goal to make a rainbow version of all of my patterns.
This quilt uses my Addition quilt and a rainbow of Gingham Play prints from Michael Miller Fabrics. I have used these several times as quilt backing, but this is the first time I have used it for the front of the quilt. It is so cute! I used magenta, tangerine, marigold, pine, marine, pink, pumpkin, honey, leaf, luna, and black.
This is one of my beginner friendly patterns and it is so nice and quick. But boy is it big! My husband had to stand on a bench for this photo :) It's the best kind of lap size for snuggling on the couch.
For the quilting I did my normal organic grid. It felt like the obvious choice since it is kind of gingham-y and worked really well with the design.
For the binding I did something a little different than my norm - I attached it by machine! Normally I look forward to the hand sewing part of binding, but life is just too busy right now and I was dreading it so I went ahead and attached it by machine. It turned out pretty well!
If you'd like to make your own version of Addition, you can find the pattern in the shop!
