The Verity Quilt in Unruly Nature
My final sample of the Verity Quilt is made with Unruly Nature by Jen Hewett. I REALLY like this collection — this is the 3rd quilt I have made with it! (see here and here) The prints and colors are all so pretty, I couldn't help myself.
This quilt ended up being mostly leftovers from the previous 2 quilts. Making leftovers quilts (that's my technical term for them) is almost as much fun as making scrap quilts. I love using what I have.
The background fabric is Add it Up in Copper. This is one of my favorite background fabrics to use and I heard that this color is going to be discontinued. Luckily I have quite a bit in my stash!
Since I was using leftover fabrics, I didn't have enough in my stash for the binding and I didn't find a solid in my stash that I loved, so I ended up using this peach-y print from Heirloom. It isn't a perfect match, but it blends well enough and I liked how it looked with the backing fabric.
Speaking of the backing fabric, I love this flower print so much and it makes such a great backing. Plus I love the warm colors — so cozy.
For the quilting I did more normal "organic" grid. The collection is called Unruly Nature after all, so an "unruly" quilting style felt apropos.
Unruly Nature is still findable in some shops and the Verity Quilt is available at kitchentablequilting.com. I can't wait to see what you make!
