The Verity Quilt in Achroma
I dare you to look at the #achromafabric hashtag on Instagram and not feel inspired to make something. There are so many beautiful projects! As soon as I saw this collection, which is collaborate from Ruby Star Society, I knew that I needed it for the Verity Quilt Pattern.
When I was writing this pattern, I kept thinking how great it was going to be for making a super colorful quilt. But what if all of the fabrics are black and white? It works even in grayscale!
The collection has so much variation in value, scale, texture, etc. that you don't even miss the colors. I also really love that Achroma is a collaborate collection — since I am a big fan of Ruby Star Society fabrics and sew with them pretty often, it is fun to see fabrics by all of the designers mixed together.
For the quilting, I stuck with straight lines that are pretty close together (I think about an 1" apart). I really like that the closer-together lines unified all of the different patterns in the quilt. The binding is a black solid and the backing is good old 108" wide speckled. Not exciting, but very striking.
Achroma is in shops now and you can pick up the Verity Quilt in my shop as both a PDF and a paper pattern.
