The Talia Quilt in Rifle Paper Co. Holiday Classics

The Talia Quilt in Rifle Paper Co. Holiday Classics

I think it’s no secret at this point that I love Rifle Paper Co. fabrics. For the past few years, I’ve made it a tradition to sew at least one quilt using their new Holiday Classics collection, and there was no way I was going to skip it this year. As soon as I saw this year’s lineup — and how absolutely adorable the prints are — I knew it would be a perfect match for the Talia Quilt Pattern.

Here are my previous Holiday Classics quilts:

The Violet Quilt in Holiday Classics
The Bonnie Quilt in Rifle Paper Co Holiday Classics
The Lydia Quilt Pattern in Rifle Paper Co Holiday Classics III

One of my favorite things about sewing with Holiday Classics is that the prints are detailed and so cute, and I don’t always want to cut them into tiny pieces. The Talia Quilt is ideal for showcasing larger-scale prints, letting the fabrics really shine while still creating lots of movement across the quilt top.

If you’ve followed along in past years, you’ll notice that Holiday Classics fabrics from different years mix beautifully together. This collection feels cohesive with previous releases while still offering a fresh set of prints. I’m especially love the little Nativity print in this year’s collection — and I’m honestly kicking myself for not buying extra for the backing. I may need to track some down before it’s too late.

One thing that can be a bit tricky with this collection is the wide range of values. There are several very dark prints alongside very light ones, which can sometimes make pattern selection challenging. That contrast is exactly why the Talia Quilt Pattern works so well here — the layout handles value variation beautifully without requiring a lot of overthinking.

For the background fabric, I used Pure Solids in Sweet Macadamia, one of my longtime favorites. It reads as a neutral but has just the slightest hint of pink, which adds warmth without competing with the prints. It’s the kind of background fabric that quietly ties everything together.

If you would like to make a quilt just like this one, you can find Rifle Paper Co.'s Holiday Classics IV in shops now and you can pick up the Talia Quilt Pattern in my shop!
