The Ruby Quilt in Hometown
Have you ever made a quilt with Lori Holt's fabrics? Even though I have seen her collections for years and have loved seeing other people sew with them, this is the first time I have used them in a quilt. I have really loved her last couple of collections so I picked up some of both of them (a jelly roll and a layer cake) to make a couple of quilts. First up, I used a jelly roll of Home Town to make the Ruby Quilt pattern.
I shared a little about this quilt while I was making it because I did some videos:
Cutting Your Strip Pieced Fabric
And yes, these videos are from June so it took me a little bit of time to finish up this quilt, but I finally got it done.
I really like this collection because it has tons of print and color variety and the small-scale of the prints makes it easy to use in lots of different patterns. For the background fabric I wanted to do something a little more fun and used this pretty pink print.
The backing fabric is one of Lori's Bee Gingham prints and the binding is Home Town Freeman in Denim.
I am already planning my next Lori Holt project (this time using a Layer Cake of Bee Vintage!). If you would like to make your own Ruby Quilt, you can pick up a copy of the pattern in my shop!
