The Greta Quilt Pattern in Dog Park

The Greta Quilt Pattern in Dog Park

I have never seen my 13 year old son be interested in a fabric collection, but it turns out that if the fabric is dog themed, we have his attention!  And for good reason. The Dog Park collection by Sarah Watts is the perfect blend of super cute dogs + gorgeous and functional colors that were perfect for the Greta Quilt Pattern.

Several of these prints are perfect for fussy cutting, which is something I am always looking to add to my stash. I love to make baby quilts using fussy cut fabrics (check out here and here and here and here) and I am already cutting squares to make a playmat just in case I get another niece or nephew sometime soon. Cross your fingers for me.

There are also some gorgeous basic-like prints, especially the Deco Pup in Teal and Cocoa. Both of those colors are difficult to find in fabrics and they are so pretty and great for mixing.

Of course I had to put the dog medley print on the back. I always try to pick a backing fabric that will add something to the quilt and this one does the trick. I liked this print so much that I am planning to pick up some of the canvas version to make some cushions.

This pattern uses two background fabrics and I used Speckled in Earth and Field in Shell (from the collection). I love that Ruby Star Society gives us great blender options for their collections. The Speckled print worked beautifully.

For the quilting I kept things simple and did straight lines. I wanted to add texture without distracting from the cute dogs.

Dog Park should be available in shops very soon and in the meantime, you can pick up your copy of the Greta Quilt Pattern in my shop!
