The Erica Quilt Pattern in Picture Book
I love a good fussy cut fabric (see here, here, here, and here) and Picture Book by Kimberly Kight makes it so easy because there is a print (in 3 color ways!) that is made for fussy cutting. It was so much fun to get to mix those little fussy cut pieces in with the collection to make the cover for the Erica Quilt Pattern.
And yes, you might have noticed that my background fabric for this quilt isn't white or light gray — I am trying to be more adventurous! Luckily, this pattern lends itself very well to bright and fun background fabric colors. The fabric is Speckled in Daisy. It is a really pretty pinky-purpley color that matches the collection really beautifully.
The backing is Strawberry Toss in Storytime — I love strawberry fabrics and I really liked the darker color on the back with the brighter colors on the front. The binding is Maze in Storytime and it is going to be a new favorite binding for me.
The quilting was done by Heidi from Piece and Joy Quilting Co. and I am in love with this panto. It's called Cakewalk by Sarah Ann Myers and I love how it blends everything together. This one will definitely show up again in the future.
If you would like to make a quilt just like the one on the cover, Picture Book will be arriving in shops in the next couple of months and you can pick up a copy of the Erica Quilt in my shop now!
