Meet the Dylan Quilt Pattern
I’m so happy to introduce The Dylan Quilt Pattern! The Dylan Quilt is made with half-square triangles arranged into mirrored blocks, creating a design that does a little dance across the quilt. It has plenty of visual movement, but the construction is straightforward and repetitive and perfect for scraps.

You can use fat eighths or fat quarters for a more coordinated look, pull from several collections, or gather scraps from your stash. An accent fabric and a contrasting background help define the shapes while still giving the feature fabrics plenty of room to shine.

Dylan Quilt Sizes
The Dylan Quilt Pattern includes instructions for five sizes:
Baby Size – 42" x 48"
Lap Size – 70" x 72"
Twin Size – 70" x 96"
Queen Size – 98" x 96"
King Size – 112" x 108"
To make the pattern pop, select accent and background fabrics that are easy to distinguish from your feature fabrics. Other than that, there are no rules!

Making the Dylan Quilt
The design is constructed with half-square triangles and two block variations that mirror one another. Once the half-square triangles are finished, the blocks come together in rows using the same units again and again.
There are enough pieces to keep things interesting, but nothing is especially complicated. If you enjoy chain piecing, sorting colorful fabric stacks, and watching a design emerge as the blocks are placed together, this is a very satisfying quilt to make. It is also a great opportunity to use those smaller pieces you have been saving.

Get the Dylan Quilt Pattern
This week I will be sharing the cover version, the solids version, and the rainbow scrappy version that I made as well as lots of mockups. If you have a mockup request, let me know!
The Dylan Quilt Pattern is available as a PDF or paper pattern in the shop now.
If you make a Dylan Quilt, I would love to see it! Make sure to add it to the Maker Gallery.
