The Tessa Quilt in Charley Harper
The Tessa Quilt is one of my favorite patterns to revisit - especially with new fabrics that I LOVE working with.
Have you ever sewn with fabrics from Birch Fabrics? They are so smooth and soft and they have a wonderful, light feel. I have used prints and solids from their various collections over the years and have loved working with them.
I have used Charley Harper prints a couple of times before (here and here) and they make such beautiful quilts. All of these prints are from a new collection called Harvest Vol. 1.
There are a lot of owls in the various fabrics, which was actually perfect because my youngest has been studying owls in his first grade class and he loved seeing them in the quilt. This is my favorite print in the collection. Maybe it isn't a popular opinion, but I love using brown in quilts.
The backing and binding are both the Red and Fed print from the collection. Birch fabrics are pretty lightweight and the quilt feels almost like it is made from voile.
The Tessa Quilt was perfect for the fabrics - I previously made one using mostly Charley Harper fabrics last year and they are a winning combination.
