The Sylvie Quilt in Speckled
My favorite basic fabric right now is Speckled from Ruby Star Society. There is a large range of colors and the prints have little "speckles" of fun colors and metallics that makes them so much fun when mixed with other collections.
But they are also super fun all on their own. RSS recently released some new colors and I have been itching to work with them - they were perfect for the Sylvie Quilt.
There wasn't much method to my madness in picking colors for the quilt - I just picked the colors that I liked best. I knew that the pattern was pretty forgiving for eclectic color combinations and I just wanted a combo that was bright and fun - I'm thrilled with how it turned out!
This pattern is so, so fast to sew together. This is the third? fourth? time I have made it and each time it has only taken me a few hours. Plus I love how it really shows off your fabric - even these "basic" fabrics really shine in the pattern and you can see all of the different colored speckles on the prints.
Below is a list of the colors I used in the quilt along with the fabric letter in the pattern - I linked to the fabrics from two different sources in case some of them go out of stock.

H - Strawberry | or here
J - Blue Slate | or here
L - Bright Blue | or here
Sashing - White Gold | or here
One really nice thing is that Speckled now has some 108" wide backing fabrics - it makes a great backing fabric that would work with lots of quilts. I am always on board with more wideback prints!
