The Remy Quilt in Egg and Friends
The cover quilt for the Remy Quilt Pattern is made with Egg and Friends, an upcoming breakfast-themed (!!!) fabric collection by Kim Kight for Ruby Star Society — and yes, it’s every bit as delightful as it sounds. I am a huge fan of all-things breakfast, so I immediately loved these fabrics. This collection has cereal boxes, honey bears, fruit, smiley faces, and (of course) eggs mixed in with plaids (which you know I love).

When I started planning the cover quilt, I knew I wanted to pair these fabrics with a brighter background instead of the usual white or cream — something that kept the quilt feeling light and happy without washing out the prints. I ended up choosing Speckled in Polar, a really pretty light blue that complements the Egg and Friends fabrics beautifully. It gives the quilt a fresh, airy feel and really lets the feature fabrics shine.

One of the things I love most about the Remy Quilt Pattern is that it works with fat quarters, fat eighths, or even scraps. I used fat quarters from this collection for this quilt which still gives the project plenty of fabric variety. The repeated sawtooth stars create movement and the result is a quilt that’s just… fun. It makes me smile every time I look at it.

I’ll be sharing more versions of the Remy Quilt throughout the week, but this one felt like the perfect way to introduce the pattern: bright, fun, and a little bit unexpected.

If you would like to make a quilt just like this one, Egg and Friends is available for preorder now and you can pick up a copy of the pattern in my shop!
