The Nina Quilt in Moonglow

The Nina Quilt in Moonglow

You guys know that I love, love, love the Add it Up basics from Ruby Star Society and I am always excited to work with a collection that involves a new color. That wasn't the only reason that I really wanted to make the Nina Quilt cover quilt in Moonglow, but it was pretty high on the list — I mean a purple AND a purple-y pink? It doesn't get much better.

Alexia Abegg creates beautiful collections with a lot of movement, scale, and color and I love the combinations that she puts together. This quilt was made with a fat quarter bundle of her next collection called Moonglow (it should be available soon).

The cornerstone fabric is the Plum Add it Up print and wow, I am in love. My cornerstones were actually my starting point for this quilt design because I wanted small cornerstones that were floating in the sashing fabric. Getting to use one of my favorite colors for the cornerstones was icing on the cake.

The background fabric for the quilt is the Handkerchief print in Natural. The print is super subtle and so pretty. The binding fabric is (of course!) Add it Up in Plum.

Did you notice that this quilt was long arm quilted? I normally quilt my own projects, but life has been SO BUSY that I am going to have my wonderful friend Heidi quilt a few projects for me going forward. If you are looking for a long-arm quilter, she is FABULOUS.

If you would like to make a quilt just like this one, make sure to pick up a copy of the Nina Quilt in the shop and watch out for Moonglow in shops very soon!
