Pattern of the Week - The Judy Quilt

Pattern of the Week - The Judy Quilt

How is it the end of another week already? I saw a post the other day that said, “I don’t understand this year — every 2 minutes, it’s Monday,” and honestly… that feels exactly right.

But the upside? Another week means I get to share new quilt mockups with you — and that’s always something to look forward to!

This Week’s Feature: The Judy Quilt Pattern

This week we’re revisiting one of my all-time favorite patterns: the Judy Quilt!

If you’ve been around for a while, you know I love a quilt pattern that’s quick to make but still has a lot of visual impact — and Judy checks all the boxes. I have made this entire quilt top in a day before so it's definitely a quick one!

Whether you’re working with a bold seasonal collection, a set of large-scale prints, or just pulling from your stash, the Judy Quilt is a great option. Its clean, modern layout gives your fabrics room to shine and makes it easy to finish in a weekend (or faster, if you’re speedy!).

Why I Love the Judy Quilt

🧵 Beginner-Friendly – The block construction is simple and forgiving, perfect for newer quilters or anyone wanting a relaxing sew. It does require a little planning or a good surface to lay out your quilt top, but when you lay it out, the piecing is very quick.

📏 Precut-Friendly – Works well with fat quarters, fat eighths, or larger scraps.

🎨 Showcases Prints – Especially great for large scale prints that deserve some breathing room.

🧵 Fast Finish – This is one of my go-to “I want to finish something this weekend” patterns.

New Judy Quilt Mockups

I had a lot of fun putting together new mockups of the Judy Quilt using different fabric collections. Whether you’re planning something soft and subtle or bold and vibrant, these examples will help you visualize how the pattern comes to life with different palettes.
