Pattern of the Week - The Irene Quilt

Pattern of the Week - The Irene Quilt

Some weeks I sit down to make mockups with a specific plan, and other weeks I just pick a pattern and see where it goes. This week was one of those second kinds of weeks, and I ended up spending some time with the Irene Quilt.

The Irene Quilt is one of those patterns that feels really straightforward while you’re making it, but ends up looking a little more complex once it’s all together. It uses strip piecing, so it comes together quickly, and it works really well with whatever you have on hand — jelly rolls, fat quarters, and (especially!) scraps.

It’s also a nice option if you liked the Iris Quilt but wanted something a little less fussy. The Irene Quilt skips the on-point construction, which makes the process feel a bit more approachable while still keeping that same kind of movement across the quilt top.
