Kaleidoscope Scrap Quilt Tutorial
In the past year, I think have had more emails asking for this template than just about anything. A few years ago I posted a tutorial for a Kaleidoscope quilt block that included a downloadable template. At some point in the past year, the download link stopped working and I didn't have the template saved anywhere!
This past week I finally sat down at re-wrote the tutorial and made a new template. The new tutorial is now all ready to go and can be downloaded (for free!) in my shop.
This tutorial uses a traditional kaleidoscope quilt block and it plays with value to create a design that has a lot of movement. If you have made a Plaid-ish quilt and are looking to try something else, this is a great project for you!
The tutorial has you use light, mid, and dark value scraps. You don't have to be super strict when separate the dark and mid-value scraps - you can see I wasn't when I made my quilt! The most important thing is that they are distinct from the light valued scraps.
Head over to the shop to download a copy of the tutorial. If you make your own version of the tutorial, make sure to tag me on Instagram and use the #ktqkaleidoscopequilt hashtag.

It is definitely not the easiest quilt, but it is very forgiving and it’s a great use of scraps!

I’ve always wanted to make a kaleidoscope quilt but also thought it’s too hard.
