Introducing the Vivian Quilt Pattern

Introducing the Vivian Quilt Pattern

I’m excited to finally share the Vivian Quilt Pattern! This design is built around simple construction with a layout that creates plenty of movement across the quilt top. The rotated blocks give the Vivian Quilt a clean, modern feel while still letting the fabric choices do most of the work. It’s especially fun for bold prints, high-contrast combinations, and scraps.

The Vivian Quilt is designed to be quick and approachable, but it went through plenty of behind-the-scenes refining to get the proportions just right. I wanted a pattern that worked well with Jelly Rolls, fat quarters, or scraps and felt easy to follow from start to finish. It’s flexible enough to look completely different depending on the fabrics you use, which makes it a great pattern to come back to again and again.

Vivian Quilt Sizes

The Vivian Quilt Pattern includes instructions for multiple sizes:

Baby Size - 44" x 44"
Lap Size - 63" x 74"
Twin Size - 78" x 89"
Queen Size - 93" x 104"
King Size - 112" x 104"

Why You’ll Love the Vivian Quilt Pattern

The Vivian Quilt is scrap friendly, beginner friendly, and comes together pretty quickly. It works especially well with Jelly Roll strips and leftover binding pieces, which makes it a nice option if you like patterns that use fabric efficiently but still feel fun and interesting to sew.

The Story Behind the Design

When I started working on the Vivian Quilt, I wanted a pattern that felt satisfying to sew without being overly fussy. I was aiming for something that came together smoothly, showed off individual fabrics, and still felt cohesive once it was all finished. It’s a design that leaves plenty of room to play with color and fabric placement.

I’ve made several samples to share, including a black-and-white version and a scrappy quilt using Rifle Paper Co. fabrics, and I’ll be sharing lots of mockups at the end of the week.
