A Pink and Purple Carly Quilt
Yes that's right — I am still playing catchup on quiltalong projects. This is the pink and purple Carly Quilt that I made during the Carly Quiltalong. Purple is my favorite color and there aren't nearly enough purple prints out there, so using up this much of them was a little painful but I think it was worth it.
For the colors, I tried to get a range of pink-ish purples and slightly more blue-ish purples plus a good dose of purple-y pinks. This range of colors is really my happy place.
There are some favorite prints in there too — the Lizzy House cats, Heather Ross seahorses, and lots of good basics.
The background fabric actually felt like the biggest sacrifice. I like to stock up on good basic background prints and I picked up this great one from Ruby Star Society (I think it was back when the designers were still with Cotton + Steel) a while back. It is an off-white fabric with tiny little hot pink dots. If RSS hadn't recently released their Sugar collection with a very similar print, I don't think I would have been brave enough to use it. Don't worry, I have already stocked up on plenty of the new print!
The backing fabric was actually my inspiration for making the pink and purple quilt to begin with. I love these little hedgehogs. The binding is a pink solid for Art Gallery — I am not 100% sure but I think it the color is Rock Candy. Or maybe Sweet Pink. I'm not sure.
